This year's October movie marathon begins tonight. Nine years in, looking forward to this year a lot. Hopefully curated a nice month.

I was on the fence about whether to pick up Arrow's new TMNT trilogy release. I decided to wait. Watching the 1990 movie on streaming now.
I made the right decision.
Nostalgia is the only reason I could see many people buying this as adults. This is... not great.

I still have a lot of things in my storage from various moves. I have been trying to find all my movies/shows/anime discs. I think I've found 90% of it but I am pretty sure there is one or two boxes of old DVDs still missing in the clutter. It may be time to deep dive box by box. Joy.

Severin has ruined me. RUINED ME. Stocked the hell up on stuff I've been eyeing for a while.
Vinegar Syndrome... surprisingly meh overall sale. Nothing really must have in new announcements. Picked up a few Melusine titles on sale though.
One or two more sales tomorrow then the long wallet sleep.

Finally got to the new Superman. It's all right. Like some choices, others not as much. Lex and Terrific are the showstealers here and the best decisions. Honestly surprised this didn't get more flack than Man of Steel though as this Superman mat actually be more violent and more willing to kill.

Watching the Marathon Man tonight. This... was not what I was expecting at all after all these years.
Again, even giving a list of 12 "bests" I do feel like a TON of good stuff is being left out. I cannot stress what a great year this really was. Being a mostly curated physical media resulted in so many good finds. I really do recommend reading through the whole list of films.

I am still poking at the best/worst lists. There's so many that I feel bad leaving things out. Tempted to rank them into two lists of Best Technical films and Most Entertaining films. Sometimes those two intersect, but not always. But so many good watches this year that deserve a shout out.

This has been an interesting year for the marathon. Far easier for once to decide the worst movies. Being a more curated list there was a lot less blind watches of random schlock.
The best list though... man. This is going to be hard to limit down to 5. May have look at a list of 10 or something.

Aw man, it's a shame this Blu ray is such low quality. Credits claim it was the best transfer they have which sucks. Hate when negatives are lost and cool looking movies are reduced to terrible copies. :(
