I think the next elected Pope should be a Palestinian.

Yes, it's out there; however, why not as Francis was the first non-European since the 8th century.
Elect someone from the region of which the Christian faith's descend from.

And yes, Palestine does have Christians and people of other faiths.

I was humbled over the last few days with trips to Pompei and Herculaneum. The most spectacular sites, especially Herculaneum as the preservation is outstanding. The emotional feel is impressive.
If you are visiting look up local archaeologist Paolo Mondola for a tour 👌

I’ve just read this sequence of papers about the #Stonehenge Altar Stone. I have thoughts. Primarily being that as of now we have NO confirmed source location for the Altar Stone. Maybe hold off on the press release, hyperbole & grand unifying theory papers for now lads? NB all 12 authors are men.

On this day in 1451: The University of Glasgow was founded, making it the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world.
The UoG has been annoying people with the UoG accents for 574 years—longer than you’ve been mispronouncing “Edinburgh.”

I am grateful to be alive still, upon reflection I recalled that I would have been long dead now if it wasn't for modern chemotherapy and some stubborn Scottish resilience.

Fascinating discussion playing out here around this latest Stonehenge hypothesis. Bluesky is now the place to be for interesting discussions between experts and great dialogue!
Thought this wouldn’t be far off. Mike Parker Pearson expounds on his theory of Stonehenge as a unitary monument for Britain and Ireland in light of new evidence for the Scottish origins of the Altar Stone (link to the paper doesn’t appear to be live yet).

Stonehenge may have been erected to unite early British farming communities, research finds
The alter stone, which we now know is from Scotland, may have been a gift or marker of political alliance
