Good morning from Illinois, where I’ve been for the last few days for my grandmother’s funeral, still responding to urgent work emails, staying informed about and trying to push my R House rep to care about the Elon coup, and pretending like I’m not getting sick. Going home today, and I’m tired.

Issac Sanchez was the first “out” member of the LGBTQ+ community in the Rio Grande Valley. He spoke publicly on local news as a counterpoint to Anita Bryant’s visit to the area in 1978.
