I think that's true, however when you post these kinds of things you can't control who sees it. To many men this may just affirm that their experiences are not valid perpetuating the cycle of just having to ignore the root issue. I'll also point out that it's not only men who are alt-right

They would also find the same if not more garbage telling them that everything is fine and they just need to "man up". And idea that has been built into their worldview from very young. When presented with two opposing views people tend to accept that which compliments their already-established idea

I also don't think it's fair to say that the information is out there and it's their fault they don't read it, because there's also plenty of right wing trash out there too and you know that much of it doesn't openly espouse it's beliefs and rely on manipulation and frame control instead.

I think that's the problem there. Men do not have the reference to recognize that the patriarchy IS what's harming them. The systems of oppression are not as salient to those who benefit from it. It's the same way a lot of white people don't recognize police brutality as an issue.

Men also suffer from patriarchy and that's a point that's often missed that should be the frame we are communicating. Instead comics like these communicate that their loneliness is some personal failure instead of a systemic issue. Id also like to clarify that the right does something far worse.

I think we are agreeing that the attitudes men are presented with are not good or helpful. The idea I'm trying to express is that the framing of this comic is individualistic, implying that the problem lies with these men in a way that doesn't validate their experience.

I don't think the problem is coddling. I think it's the pervasive idea that men must be independent and self-sufficient. The same ubiquitous ideology that spawns things like "pull yourself up by your bootstraps". I think this framing that it is the fault of individual men is not productive.

Isn't this doing the same thing though? Like you're assuming a man's politics/morality. Unfortunately I have a few friends of the male variety who do feel alone. The problem is patriarchy and the idea that people must be completely independent, but this doesn't help anyone.

If this passes we MUST general strike. I'm not going to be just letting my tax dollars be used to support some wannabe gestapo goon squad.

It's almost as if they are just another tool of the establishment making mock opposition and political theatre without pursuing any actual goals
