Wow! Thank you so much @prisonculture.bsky.social for promoting my list. The books have started rolling in, and I can't wait to share them with my new students. All of the donations were anonymous, but if you sent something, thank you so much!

Today, I met my fear of ladders head on and washed the upper windows. It wasn’t terrible, and they look so much better!

I just finished this book, and I’ll be getting it for my classroom. I laughed out loud multiple times, and it had a great lesson about being proud of who you are. #BookSky

Choose 20 books on your current TBR shelf. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no expectations, just covers. 1/20 #20dayTBRchallenge #booksky

Bunny the cat really knows how to prevent me from doing my writing for the day.

I get lazy about posting and find myself passively consuming too often. But I thought my sudoku helper this morning was pretty cute.

One thing I noticed today was the use of "said" as a past tense and "says" as a present tense. The shift is meaningful, even if I'm not yet sure why.

I'm also wondering about the use of & instead of the word and in line 13.

I noticed the nostalgia with the lines about standing in a sprinkler and being safe with our friends (lines 9-13).

The innocence of a childhood summer is in stark contrast to a childhood being cut short through gun violence.

My goal this summer is to spend about an hour each day working outside in the yard.

I don't love yard work, but I do love moving and being outside. I usually listen to a podcast, and that's about the right amount of time. Today was @yourewrongabout.bsky.social's Pee-wee Herman episode.

I enjoyed the sensory overload in this one. I grew up on a farm, and we stored some food in the barn. So, by late winter/early spring, we would encounter a similar fate. It brought me right back there. #PoemADayJuly

So much to think about in this poem. I couldn't help but think about how many people cheering the passage of the ugly bill would read this in a totally different way than I did.

Never in my whole life have I wished I wore an extra small until now.

I told my students that one of my summer goals was reading 30 middle grade books so I could start the year with a lot of recs for my new class. This is my first stack.

I’ll take recs for great reads for kids (fourth grade)

Picture book organization will make August Sara happy, but June Sara is fighting the urge to shove them all back in the closet. #EduSky #BookSky

Every year when kids write their Oregon Trail letters, I kind of dread the “antiquing” process. But every year, I also love it. Dip dyed in coffee, edges burned tomorrow.

Today was a fun science day! The kids worked hard to figure out how to get the lightbulbs to light up. Some wanted help from groups that figured it out first, and some wanted to figure it out on their own. They all had fun!

Not as much fun, using the same set up to make squealing buzzers go off.

I finished this lovely gem of a book today. I can think of a couple of students who will love it. I can't wait to share it with my class tomorrow. #EduSky #BookSky

I'm excited to read more by this author.

Day One: Finished this lovely, sweet book (I'm calling it Taylor fanfic with a Sapphic twist) and made progress on my shrug. #BookSky #KnitSky

I spend the weekend with dear friends at the Oregon Coast. I knit a whole bunch, read a little, ate a lot of snacks, had a couple glasses of wine, and laughed a lot. I also wore a chicken hat on the beach and found out my head is a full 2 inches bigger than anyone else's (23.5 inches).

I’m still not sure this will be done by the weekend for the Rose City Yarn Crawl, but I’m starting to grafting the ends together tonight. 🤞🏻 #KnitSky
