I love that two of the pictures are just slightly different pictures of the same old truck

I use Bluesky exactly how I used Twitter: read posts/reposts from people I follow in reverse chronological order. For that it works perfectly, and I'm not sure what else people even want from it. A website doesn't need to do everything to be worth using.

Sometimes when I'm feeling despair over the state of the Democratic Party, at least I can take some solace in the fact that they're not the Labour Party.

Subtle thing, but most muppet performers almost exclusively move their thumb for mouth movements. After all, only your lower jaw moved when you talk. It's a small thing but it goes a long way towards Muppets feeling more lifelike.

In addition, a service used by the upper and middle classes is a service that's much less likely to get cut in the future. Someone may not care if someone else loses their free bus fare, but they will care if they lose their own free busses, even if they could afford the fare.

It's almost like these AI bros don't know anything about the industries they're trying to disrupt. History is just regurgitating names and dates right? We can easily train an AI to do that for the low price of billions of dollars and a shitload of CO2.

He was super toxic, and I blame him for a lot of the issues with modern gaming culture (he gave a lot of credibility to Gamergate, for example). He paved the way for Asmongold and a lot of other "gaming" influencers that are just far right shitheads. I'm not glad he's dead, but he did a lot of harm

What about a failed base jump off of the Cathedral of Learning? Or an allergic reaction caused by eating a salad without french fries? Or someone getting attacked by the Duolingo owl?

Are there any injuries caused by a Pittsburgh Left gone wrong? Or someone getting stabbed after buying Hunt's Ketchup? Or someone overdosing on cocaine they bought from the Pirate Parrot? Or someone breaking all their bones falling down Canton Avenue?

It shows a lot that "double checking" is never a step in these AI fantasies. It shows a complete lack of care in the end result, and the refusal to put forward even minimal effort.

Do these people ever consider "what if the AI makes a decision I don't want?" Even disregarding all the many mistakes AI can make, what happens if the 5 year old hates bowling? Or what if the AI picks out a chocolate cake when the kid only likes vanilla?

Keep in mind that Ben's an idiot who thinks he's the smartest person in the room. I would not look towards him for any gauge of public opinion.

It feels like AI people think that the "idea" of a work of art is the most important part. When in reality ideas are a dime a dozen, and it's how an artist chooses to realize those ideas which makes art interesting. There's a lot of good art that starts with "bad" ideas, and vice versa.
