"this made me feel weird, this made me feel scared," yeah that's kind of the point of engaging with art and there's hundreds of years of published psychology behind the benefits of feeling fear in a controlled environment. "this made me feel bad" isn't a coherent review, it's a neutral statement.

in addition to "discomfort does not equal harm" I wish people also realized that sometimes (actually, most of the time) if there's something uncomfortable in a narrative, it's supposed to be uncomfortable. yes, even if its "romanticized", the author usually trusts you understand it's uncanny.
