The comment was about the differing experiences of homosexual men and women, and how sexusim has impacted said women in queer spaces. Maybe take a few moments to be sure you parsed the statement correctly before you go off yeah?

What happens if someone primarily listens to 'classical' music? Is their listening age in the hundreds?

As far as I can tell means testing winds up being a way to quietly cut support from people in need without officially canceling it, either through making it so difficult to get aid most give up, or by requiring they prostrate and degrade themselves for meager scraps.

And NO MIXED COLOR STRIPES. Each one is a single color.

I'm still side eyeing the engineers, but the cable maker would get an earfull from me.

Solid, then white with 1, 2, or 3 stripes gives you 36 distinct wires, not counting black and red reserved for DC.

You need more than 50 uneque signal wires? Screw you no you don't. Microchips are cheeper than copper, there are plenty off-the-shelf pin-to-data-network converters for numerous comms standards out there, you're lucky I didn't restrict signal lines to the pan pride flag colors.
November 25, 2025 at 3:29 AM
None of this "white red black/white black red/red white black". There is no white, you have 10 colors at most (reds are reserved for DC positive), and you get [color]0 through [color]4 where color 0 is solidly that color and 1-4 is white with that many [color] stripes.
November 25, 2025 at 3:25 AM
Ah hell no. If I'm on the job all black lines are common ground. If a second isolated ground is needed they get green. Then you get a full distinct suite of colors picked to be as acomodating as possible for colorblind people (impossible to get right but some effort is better than none).

I imagine that'd be clearer though, yeah? Black wire in the red bundle is harder to confuse with the red wire in the black bundle than these two are.

So there wasn't all that much in terms of imported software versions on tape to make people question why they'd shell out the money for a floppy.
November 12, 2025 at 7:22 AM
In the US the scene wasn't as established, and there were issues with running PAL software on NTSC hardware because the TV signal reliance was so deeply baked it affected the C64's clock speed.
November 12, 2025 at 7:21 AM
But not having a floppy, you could use any-ole' casset player/recorder to make and read tapes. They were slower and less convenient, but everyone had one. Then the software scene exploded around it, so by the time the floppy came out the question was why get one when everything's sold on tape

(Foppy drive I mean*)

NA would have been shopping from the US supply, the intended setup of the C64 used your TV which meant it had to be compatible with NTSC or PAL depending on the reigon. The storage thing was merely a timing thing, having gotten a foothold in the UK first before developing a tape drive...
November 12, 2025 at 7:16 AM
C64 had a floppy drive that was more popular in the states, while in the UK the tape storage scene was much more developed.

Airquotes because any statement along those lines is inherently suspicious to me.

At the minimum, even if they "didn't intend to kill", there is no way they were not informed their actions would cause people to die and they did-so anyway causing deaths making them culpable for criminally negligent manslaughter and/or voluntary manslaughter.
