Of a charity store, and knew I had to bring home what is claimed to be the greatest novel in the English language to find out for myself.
It is certainly famous beyond words; there's probably not a soul on this plant who has not heard of Moby Dick.

Mark Fuller Dillon. Since you mentioned the Ormandy recording, I went and ordered a copy (c/w the Shostakovich 10th). It arrived in less than two days but I've not yet found time to listen to it.

Nevertheless, for me, the greatest American composer will always be Charles Ives.

Probably Klemperer, it was the first 7th I’d ever heard - back in the 60s- so it left an indelible impression.
