Ar tonelico isn't Atelier in any form.

Well, some of these are also because the way Sugiyama handled the instrumentation or the harmonies isn't to my tastes, compared to what the sound programmers did.

I have a similar feeling with some of Sugiyama's pieces in many of the DQ games, where I feel either the 8-bit chiptune version or the MIDI one is better than the orchestral one when it comes to transmitting an emotion (Days of Sadness in DQ7, Neverending Journey in DQM, To the Plains in DQ1...)

It is. The loading screens aren't any longer than the PS3 version ones, and the framerate issues can be alleviated greatly through overclocking.

The DLC is important for closing off Shirotaka's history and getting an in-depth glimpse into Ion's past though. The Vita version also has some of the content that was removed from the localized PS3 version, as well as some QoL and script improvements.

Yeah, the localization is awful. That's why we did a retranslation for AT2 that is currently being revised for further improvements tl the text and gameplay, and why I'm planning to do the same to AT1.

He did. Shikata was a major celebrity in doujin circles after her doujin EP Haikyo to Rakuen stayed in the top of music releases for two straight years, plus her solo work in composing the soundtrack for Hacca*Works' Hanakisou visual novel.

Congrats! Planning to do the postgame too?

This grinding was always a point of frustration to me. Had bad luck with the liquids and kings escaping xD

Yup. Also from AI1 and AI2: "Trismegistus" -> "Amalgam"

Thanks!

Yep. I also plan to backport the improved font we implemented for AT2 into AT1 when I have a bit more time and energy to do it.
October 7, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Well, the only case that could have caused that decision is this one. But it still doesn't compensate for making all the other text in the game using the font effectively illegible.
October 7, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Yep. With that division removed, it has the same scale and positioning it's supposed to originally have, and it also matches the way it looks in AT2.

I also took care of confirming that fixing it doesn't affect any other of the game's fonts.
