wondering if i should just bite the bullet and move one of my drives over to btrfs at this point because despite btrfs being iffy in quite a few regards i don't think we're gonna be getting anything better

i think the only real exceptions i know of would be stuff like that "fix-me stick" that's just a malware scanner tool on a usb stick (as well as that chrome os distro by the same people), and that minecraft wristband from ages ago

i feel like there would've been some interesting opportunities

physical pc software was still somewhat common in the 2000's, and cd/dvd drives were also very common during that time - but so was usb

fast forward and disc drives have vanished from pcs, but usb is still common - but most of the physical software i see is still distributed on disc

@bizzero EAC for windows games on linux works via a native linux wrapper library that's much weaker than its windows counterpart and has to be enabled manually by the game publisher; battleye has something similar iirc but it doesn't appear to be as widely used last i remember
