It's not a tool chest until it has my alma mater emblazoned. #woodworking #fancyladacademy

Something a tad muted for the new traveling tool chest paint. Called Cavalry Brown; it's home center stuff with just a slight touch of green. More on the actual chest and kit on the blog later this week. #woodworking #essentialtoolkit #paintedfurniture

That's not a baby coffin, I swear. #woodworking

I feel nothing, and never have. And so shall you. #mtga #castiel #supernatural

My RDW standard deck was decimated by the recent bans, so I'm pivoting to silly ass angel weenie. I think it's technically midrange, but still. #mtga #magicthegathering

Finally got a metal cabinet for my paints, woodworking finishes, and glues. I don't think it's rated as fireproof but certainly better than the old plastic one. #safetyfirst #woodworking #flammable

Sometimes the home Depot common boards really come through. You just have to dig through the pile sometimes. #woodworking

Don't let anybody tell you that low knobs on a #woodworking hand plane are bad. They are excellent.

I've been living without a #woodworking drill press for a couple years now. It's been fine, but a pre-tariff sale convinced me to grab another one just in case. I historically don't use a drill press for more than making tool racks and drilling pilot holes, so an 8" benchtop model is sufficient.

I need to make some shop furniture for the #woodworking shop and, as a hand tool guy, I'm nonetheless pretty impressed by the strength of pocket hole joinery. I'm still gonna be a snob about it, but only with respect to myself and only because of my ego. LOL.

Traveling #woodworking tool chest is complete (other than some pulls). Time for a couple coats of milk paint.

Making great progress on French fitting the #woodworking traveling tool chest. Will do a full build description on the website.

European style #woodworking wooden smoother or jack plane (missing the front horn but still having the recess for it) in Avowed. Found on a pair of Roman-ish staked saw benches. Willing to bet whatever developer designed the video game asset just didn't like the front horn on the plane.

Quick follow up: saw for the travel tool box is all cleaned up and cutting nicely. Didn't have to joint off all the teeth, so reshaping the teeth to rip cut was pretty quick. 9TPI rip cut can still crosscut in a pinch (just have to knife the cut line so it doesn't rag out too badly).

I found a transitional plane at a thrift store in Vermont. Beech sole has barely any checking and the mouth is very tight. The iron still has a lot of life and the japanning is 95% still there. One of the frog screws cracked and the tote needs replacing but it should clean up nicely. Great find!

Beautiful blanket chest, or maybe joiner's chest, in Bobby's kitchen in Supernatural S7E1. It has a bunch of clutter on its lid, just like every good flat lid chest gets in a workshop environment.

Beautiful English style #workbench in #Supernatural S6 E12. Paul Sellers would be proud.

Very happy with how the new leg vise came out for the #woodworking workbench. Have some more dog holes to bore and a tray to make, but this thing is fully functional.

Making a super high tech #workbench leg vise for hand tool #woodworking. That's a linear bearing and carbon steel shaft instead of a parallel guide or cross cross. Works great so far.

This year, I am thankful for many things. Most of all, Leonard Bailey of the Stanley Rule & Level Co. Hope you too can get some relaxing workshop time today. #woodworking #thanksgiving

For my new #woodworking workbench, I am trying hard to only use wood I have on hand and not to buy anything new. I've had to resaw some boards and modify the design slightly, but this might be the year I make a dent in my lumber supply.

Finally getting around to using this beautiful slab of reclaimed Southern Yellow Pine on a new workbench. That's a dog strip of quartersawn walnut glued on the front.
