M81 and M82 imaged by #Seestar S50 and #Dwarf3. Both images stacked from the raw subs. The scopes were out for the same elapsed time, but the Seestar was in framing mode so captured 1 hour of data in alt-az, whereas the Dwarf captured almost 2 hours of data in EQ mode. #astrophotography 🔭
M81 and M82 galaxies imaged with Seestar S50 in framing mode. The image is at an angle to the camera chip, so the Seestar took lots of images moving around in a circle to capture the whole field of view and then cropped. I stacked the raw 10s fits files using the SpaceKoala YouTube video approach: debayer, register against the Seestar stacked image, and then integrate. M81 and M82 captured with the Dwarf3. Because the Dwarf3 has a wider field of view than the Seestar, it was able to capture more images in the same elapsed time, leading to a hint of the Hydrogen alpha in the spiral arms of M81

Book 20 of 2025. This was good, but it wasn’t great. And I can’t put my finger on why. I went through it quickly, like…couldn’t put it down. I think the ending was just not there, somehow. Not sure. Still a solid 7/10, though. #booksky 💙📚

We have been able to secure blessing boxes that will be set up in new locations to serve people who have been unable to make it to our current Soap Station at Paris Carnegie Public Library. While the first box is being assembled, can you help us stock up in order to meet the incoming demand?

Section 504 prohibits discrimination against disabled people & guarantees equal access to anything (services, programs, buildings, etc.) that receives federal funding. It paved the way for the ADA. The sit-in that got it passed is an extraordinary moment in US history.
