Look, I remembered to take a photo of something I baked before it got eaten. This is a Bosco Nero cake for my dad. Recipe found in "Dolci!" cookbook. I used black cocoa.

I was absolutely OBSESSED with "Prisoner of Vampires" by Nancy Garden as a kid. Nancy was a queer author from Massachusetts and I guess her books aren't as well known outside of New England. (If you know her name you probably know it from the landmark lesbian YA book "Annie on My Mind.")
