The future is a web of branching paths, and each choice opens up new possibilities as it closes others. This is as true for a civilization as it is for an individual. The more our collective intelligence can inform each choice, the better our chances of finding paths through to a beautiful future.

Duelling tax cuts from the Liberals and Conservatives may improve family budgets—but they'll do little for the economy. My latest for @TheHubCanada

How much could consumer prices in Canada rise due to the phase-one retaliatory tariffs vs the U.S.?

I take a stab at answering that in my latest for @TheHubCanada here: thehub.ca/2025/03/11/... #cdnecon #cdnpoli

Not since the Great Depression have Canada-US tariffs risen as broadly or as sharply. Uncertainty is now double the COVID peak.

My latest for @TheHubCanada roughly quantifies the effect on investment and employment. It’s not pretty: thehub.ca/2025/03/04/... #cdnecon #cdnpoli

I’ll say it again. What makes this platform different is that it’s moderated. And, The Terms of Service are enforced. Bluesky is not like Twitter

The world needs a platform where people who disagree can have a real discussion.
The problem is you assume they want to "engage and have reals discussions on real issues." They don't. When confronted with facts, data, science, actual laws, and the like, they resort to spewing lies, disinformation and hate.
Some don't want posts like this on @bsky.app. I want more. Why ?

This is a moderated platform. Which means unbridled hate is removed. And blocked.

Making this is a platform where we can engage and have real discussions on real issues.
