Gotta have mugs.
Never have enough.

What would I do if I couldn’t play with clay? It’s my favorite thing to do, by far.

Yeah. Been there. Done that. On the quest for the perfect thin pot…

Ok. Talk to me about belly buttons and …foot drains? I’m from the farmlands of Indiana (mostly) and I don’t get around a lot. Are these pottery terms used in Maine?

The variety of colors and surfaces on your mug could only come from wood firing. You can almost see the flame pathway as it travels around the mug. Flames can have a definite flow and act like what the meteorologists call atmospheric rivers. I can see why you are so committed to wood firing.

More shelves. I also never seem to have enough shelves. And planning for winter. I store clay and glazes and go south soon. But there is winter studio prep nonetheless.

Not a lot of sand on Head Beach. I like shorelines like this. Down in Florida white sands prevail, but in Maine you get to explore and the scenery is just… fabulous. Even wonderful.

I know ‘slash & burn’ from the land clearing done here in Indiana long ago (Indiana was originally heavily forested - and now is heavily farmed). But I never knew ‘slash’ was a logging term by its own. I looked it up. Yeah. I burn it too. You’ve given me a new word to know for the day. Thank you.

Having never been a mushroom hunter, I must say that these look like what I imagine pictures of alien food would look like sent back from the planet Mars.
A delicacy discovered on Mars.
Not Earth.
And certainly not Maine…
Keep posting these.
Thanks.
