I am unfortunately cursed to write long stories only so I had to learn to adapt 😅

Honestly by scene and in phases. I also break it down by task.
- One read through for plot-consistency.
- One for sentence structures (too many repeated adjectives or descriptive words close to each other, or just awkward sentences) & tenses.
- One for grammar & spelling.

Finding a distinct voice can take some work!
But I find the single perspective too limiting for plot-heavy fics especially.

It really comes down to what serves the story you want to tell, at the end of the day.

I don’t find that all too surprising, tbh, niche as it is.

I actually find single POV stories harder to write because we’re bound to context from one single perspective throughout the story.

I might have only done it twice so far, I reckon.

Whereas multiple POVs give you the room to build a more nuanced world (I think, anyway)

I do it all the time because I like to go into their heads!

I write long chapters so I switch POVe with scenes most often. I try not to repeat scenes though there may be some overlap. The person I pick depends on who serves the plot best at that moment or whose POV we the readers benefit from 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, I’m pretty sure if you said techno music, most would just presume you mean EDM.

I’m sure more than one person out there has styled themselves ‘techno’. It just makes more sense to presume person at first glance imo. It is a niche genre 🤷🏻‍♀️

It really might be my biggest weakness! I don’t even pretend to hope I can write a short fic anymore, or I consider sub-10k short for my sanity.

I always thought my tell was that I can’t write a short story, like, at all, but it turns out that some of my readers can actually pick out my work from a line-up by the way I write.

But I do think it’s like an ‘on the outside looking in’ thing because idk how they do it.
