It’s Wednesday so here’s a WIP peek into the next chapter 🤍
"We've been working up to this for a few weeks now," Namjoon grinned at him, as the others followed them to the other side of the room. "And we thought what better day than today? It's your birthday. It's the eve of a new year. It's ripe for new beginnings in every which way possible." "Not that any of this is new," Seokjin snorted lowly, lighting some of the lamps around them. "If anything, some of it is old." "But it's only right that we speak what has not yet been spoken," Jimin shrugged, grabbing the empty seat by his side on the sofa, Yoongi having claimed the other. "You do realize none of this really clarifies anything, right?" Taehyung huffed at the vague words being thrown his way. "I feel like you're giving me press quotes." "I’ll make it simpler for you." Jimin handed him a manila folder.

Familiar arms shot out from behind the door, snaking themselves around his waist. Old habits died hard, sometimes, and he reflexively moved in closer so the arms could hold him snugly, caressing the other's nape with his own hand that had crept up his assailer's back.

Okay, I legitimately think I’ve written over 7k in the last two days 😶 I did not see that coming.

And I cannot tell where the inspiration is coming from either.

I do now know that the next RtR chapter ends in a cliffhanger. So you’re welcome for that tidbit, and this little sneak peek 🙃

"Can't say I truly believed you had potential to squander until a few weeks ago," Hoseok sassed back without hesitation. "Ouch. Now that, Seok, that truly hurt right here." Taehyung thumped his chest facetiously.

2) Sometimes I need to ignore all my WIPs and focus on something random. This was the consequence of that. Believe it or not, I technically have a full outline (both [M] and [E]) for this one and it’s actually a romcom in my head.

No clue if I’ll ever finish writing it though 🙃

"I only had to force you into the shower every time I saw you," Yoongi agreed with a snort. "Fun times." "Well," Namjoon admitted to a truth he'd done his very best to keep from them for the past few months, "when we were in-between studio leases, hyung? The six weeks you guys spent in Korea? It was bad." "How bad?" Seokjin asked him, immediately sobering. "Bad," he shook his head lightly, not wanting to explain it further. It had been one of the lowest times in his life. Namjoon had functionally subsisted on working all the time, and eating every other day, if he remembered to. He hadn't left his apartment in three weeks, at one point. "Bad enough to realize it was bad, after almost a month of living that way. I realized I needed a minder. Even if only temporarily. And I didn't want to burden you two-" "Joon," Yoongi began, only for Namjoon to stop him with a stubborn shake of his head. "The tuo of you do far too much for me as it is, hyung. I couldn't expect this of you either." "But you figured something out," Seokjin concluded. "Because you were definitely doing much better when ue returned. We thought you'd finally processed things." "I did," Namjoon agreed. "I found an app. I was admittedly working on forty hours without sleep and lots of beer at the time, but I landed on this app called Frayed Knots." "Isn't that a kinky dating app for rich people?" Yoongi frowned at the name.

All Joon scenes in my active WIPs are spoilers. So I dug into my abandoned musings pile & picked excerpts from 2 separate stories to mark the day instead

1)The first veers fantasy. It was for the only fest I’ve dropped out of. I‘ve never lost steam like I did at the time.
"Thanks, Joon!" Namjoon had always been exceptionally kind, in the almost-two weeks Tachyung had known him for. There was a part of Tachyung that still refused to believe that it wasn't a ruse mean to lower his defenses. That voice grew a little fainter every day, however. All of them on that trail, after all, had their secrets that they carried close to their chests. Even Tachyung was no exception. Namjoon was a low-level warlock whose strengths lay in academic pursuits, although he did carry a sword with him. Tachyung presumed he was somewhat proficient in the sword arts as well. He carried himself with an assured confidence that, alongside his academic pursuits, told Tachyung that he likely came from a privileged upbringing. Why Namjoon had chosen to embark upon the trail when hed probably led a comfortable life in the ordinary realm, he wasn't entirely sure. He didn't seem the type to seek glory. And this far into their journey, Taehyung thought he had come to know Namjoon's character pretty well. The warlock had been the first other hopeful on the Dragon Trail to talk to him. And when three nights had gone without a knife in his back, Tachyung had done his best to reciprocate the proffered hand of friendship. It had been shockingly simple, after that, how close they'd become. They just seemed to exist on the same wavelength. He couldn't quite explain it any better. "There you are!" Namjoon's relief interrupted his quiet. "Joonie," Tachyung grinned at him apologetically."I didn't wake you up on my way out, did I? I'm sorry if I did. It looked like you were sleeping well." "Nothing beats sunning yourself into a nap," Namjoon shook his head immediately. "Don't worry about it. I just panicked when I woke up and you were missing. What were you thinking, lae-ah? You left the warded area!" "I figured i'd be able to run back at the first sign of trouble." "You didn't even hear me coming your way." "You were quiet." "Most creatures in this forest are" Namjoon reminded him lightly, as he hefted himself up on to the rock Tachyung had made his perch. "What's got you up this late at night?" "Couldn't sleep." "Yeah?" "Mmm" Tachyung rocked into Namjoon's shoulder. It truly was strange to him that a mere two weeks ago, Namjoon had not been a part of his life at all. "I was just thinking, that's all." "About the trail?" "About who'll make it. Who deserves to. Who doesn't. Say, Joon. Who do you think will be the final four?"

He goes back three years, to the very day he'd entered his lovers' lives as a convict on restricted parole.

Broke ground on a new WIP today!

This is something new, for me 👀 and it’s a ways yet before it’ll be ready to be read. It’s also for a fest.

But I’m pretty excited about this story.🤞🏼I manage to pull it off.

"Dear lord," the sex worker shook his head, amused. "Settle down, would ya, mister? For one, you're the customer. And second, you've another thirty minutes left on the clock, so if you're interested in a round two of some sort, that would just be a waste of your time really." He scratched his neck sheepishly. "I don't—uhh—" "First time jitters, I take it?" The man nodded to the empty space next to him again. "Take a load off, mister." Namjoon gave in to his order, falling back on the pillows against the headboard. "That obvious, am I?" "First timers always are," he shrugged easily. "Say, why are you here anyway? If you don't mind my asking, that is. Usually, people like you end up here to celebrate or to forget. You don't seem like a man desperate to forget or gleeful enough to be celebrating." "People like me?" He snorted softly. He hadn't realized he could be boxed into a category that simply, arbitrary or otherwise.

And damn it if his Angel wasn't a vision in red himself. Not that he'd gotten overly dolled up, but Yoongi could tell that the blood red silk shirt had been tailored for him. He'd also definitely put some effort into styling his raven locks, and while the rapper wasn't sure if it was the trick of candlelight or a tinted lip balm, his Angel's lips were a tantalizing cherry red. They hadn't, admittedly, progressed to a relationship where it was a cherry red he would taste in the near future. But then again, Yoongi wasn't entirely certain just what their relationship was, sometimes. All he was certain of was that he was all in, wherever they were going (ideally towards forever.) He made that abjectly clear the day we met, in this timeline anyway. And that's fine. Really. No one and no thing is universally beloved. Even you've had your criticisms of this place and you're an alum." "And given the Yeontan of it all..." "That too," he agreed. "But Yoon, the way he spoke about The Conservatory in his future... I just-I feel like-I can't look at this place the same anymore. Some of my happiest memories are here. Rooming with Hoseok. Meeting Jin at a lecture or Guk on a morning jog.
