'Thorn apple,' is one wood engraving of twenty by Gertrude Hermes for an anthology of writing of old Herbals in a 1932 book by Irene Gosse. Hermes was an artist of huge talent; her sculpture is reminiscent of work by Brancusi and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. A vastly underrated artist.

So if I worked at NIH, it would be too woke to note that though my government name is “Angela”, I go by “Angie” (the name most people have called me since birth including my parents, who named me Angela).
