Jeez. A clip has emerged of Donald Trump in the Oval Office discussing how people made money in the recent market fluctuations as a result of his tariffs.

"He made two-and-a-half billion today, and he made nine hundred million, that's not bad!"

The human face of all those bullshit, blue tick Twitter accounts full of racism, lies, cowardice & cruelty…
Here's Marjorie Taylor Greene literally telling a British reporter to "go back to your country" and berating her for trying to ask a question.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

#afcb towards the bottom of the “money for TV” list so far this season. Instead of squeezing matchgoers maybe the powers that be should be treading on some Broadcaster corns…
After today’s PL fixture update (through MD26), 68% of live TV fixtures for 2024/25 have been allocated. 'Big 6' (18-19 each), Villa (17), and NUFC (16) selected most often.

From a financial perspective, each appearance was worth £839k and each club received flat £978k in 2022/23 (latest data).

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

Great advice. Please use libraries.
Also: If you don't have money to buy my (or anyone's) books, and you live in the anglosphere, before you pirate them, try to get them from your local library instead. They have it or can get it, they pay for the books, and in many places writers get paid for their books being lent. Everyone wins!
