Kinda wild how much econometric knowledge is use it or lose it. Like a year ago, I typed out this equation in Word and understood what all of the parameters meant. It wouldn't take me that long to remember everything, but there's definitely some initial shock seeing it.

One of the modestly reassuring parts of the NIH story is that there was a "correction" period where grants got out the door faster than usual this summer, to try to make up for prior delays. People that submitted to AHRQ never got that correction.
