It was her, but it wasn't.
She smelled wrong. She was cold. She didn't grab onto me & didn't rub her head in my hand.

I still sat and held her for over 2 hours. She was my heart. And without her... What's left?

I think she woke me up.
I had suddenly woken up in a cold sweat and had got up to turn the lights & everything off since I fell asleep with them on... And of course I then saw the call from the vet just 3mins prior to me crawling back into bed...

I went to see her not even 4 hours later.

The vet called me not even 15min after it happened, and after trying what they could. They let me know her body temperature had suddenly dropped & they were unable to warm her up or stabilize her. Blood work showed it was her kidneys that finally gave up.

I knew it was just a matter of time...
