🚨 The Government wants to crash the economy.

On the very same day the Prime Minister finally distanced himself from Reform UK’s policies, his own Home Secretary announced proposals that would create a two-tier society.

This undoes one of the only positive things this Govt has done for migrants. It will lead to a surge in hardship and homelessness as we move towards winter. This is not a serious plan to end asylum hotels. It is a kneejerk reaction to political pressure.

Airlines, high street banks, benefits office, and now a Government agency.

The entire eVisa roll-out has been defined by messiness, malfunction, and a lack of communication. The impact of which is being felt by people up and down the country who are struggling to access their basic rights.

Last week, MPs had the chance to speak up for migrant children living in poverty.

A massive thank you to Olivia Blake MP for hosting this vital conversation and to all MPs who attended and contributed.

This Government must protect EVERY child from poverty, no matter their background.

This is a much-needed move from the Government. But what about migrant children living in poverty?

Their parents are blocked from accessing Universal Credit because of No Recourse to Public Funds and won't be able to benefit from this expansion.

End child poverty, for every child.
🚨 NEW: Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals.

Alongside free breakfast clubs, cheaper uniform costs and government-funded childcare, Labour is putting money in parents’ pockets and giving children the best start in life.

Long and costly routes to settlement have been around for years now, but there's no evidence they do anything to stop people coming here:

What they do is:
🚨increase financial hardship & poverty risks
🚨make it harder for people to put down roots here
🚨push people out of legal status
