It's a small miracle that despite being a massive hit and a cultural phenomenon, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial never got turned into a franchise or sequelled to death. It gets to live as its own fully-contained story, with John Williams' beautiful piano piece being the final word.

My local WinCo has a discount Blu Ray bin, and its full of titles that feel teleported in from a parallel universe.

TRAIN DREAMS is pretty great. A thoughtful and quiet movie that is bracingly honest but still deeply empathetic and kind. And filmed in my beautiful home state!
