Nestle Keen (1960-circa 1970): A line of powdered drink mix, sold in packets and glass jars. Available in flavors such as lemonade, cherry, grape, orange, and tahiti punch. But there's oh so much more to it than that! Check this 🧵 for some serious 60's wackiness!

This morning, I find myself enraged at a throwaway comment suggesting that housewives used to know how to make jam innately.

Of course they didn't.

THEY LEARNED, THEY WERE TAUGHT, THIS KIND OF DOMESTIC EDUCATION HAS NEVER BEEN INNATE, IT HAS SIMPLY BEEN IGNORED AS A SKILL WORTHY OF TEACHING.

I did a huge, great emotional speech on Facebook (that you can read below) but the gist is WE HAVE DONE IT!!! The RNLI Mayday Mile challenge has come to it's end, and we ended it today by visiting (the sign of) the local lifeboat station. 1.2 mile, 35 minutes.

It's been such a blast. Thank you.

I can't believe there's only three more days left of the Mayday Mile!!! Tonight Lewis and I proved that you can never know an area too well by taking a walk through our local cemetery and exploring some of the smaller walkways in the area. It was 1 mile in about 22 mins. See you all tomorrow!

Busy day so a late post! Today's Mayday Mile for the RNLI was spent walking a new route into college and wandering about town with a dear friend. Have no idea how long it took but all combined it was a 1.3 mile total walk (it was probably about 45 minutes of walking all together!)

MAYDAY MILE DAY 27 🎉🎉🎉
Tonight for the RNLI I went up the College Street carpark for some views over the city, then walked up Union Street back home. I love walking about at this time because I love watching the sky change over the course of my journey. Walk was 1.7 miles and took just over an hour

Tonight's Mayday Mile walk for the RNLI was a 1.3 mile walk halfway up Union Street and back with my beloved Lewis ❤️ it took just under an hour, hope everyone's had a good kickoff to their week.

Another late RNLI Mayday Mile update for you. We're coming to the last week of the challenge!! Took a wander out to see the trains where they sleep, total time was 35 minutes and it was a 1.3 mile walk! Got some plans for the final week, thank you all for your continued support - we can do this!! 😁

Day 24 of the Mayday Mile for the RNLI! Another quick and quiet one tonight with the ever splendid Lewis. We walked a mile up through the local park and onto Union Street, it took about half an hour. Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend!

I'm coming to really enjoy my quiet evening walks. For tonight's RNLI Mayday Mile I had a jaunt down Albury Road and took photos of 'the sights' along the way (try not to get TOO excited)

Total mileage was 1.2 and it took 25 minutes!

Ahh, nothing beats a body of water. For today's Mayday Mile for the RNLI I went down to the Wellington Suspension Bridge for a good look at the River Dee. It was a two mile walk and as it was very leisurely it took almost exactly 1 hour. Great times 😁

Who doesn't love a quiet wander up Union Street and through the Bon Accord Terrace Gardens of an evening? The world was quiet and the air was cool and clear for today's RNLI Mayday Mile, and I was delighted to be accompanied once again by the lovely Lewis! We walked just over a mile in 20 minutes.

Another day, another RNLI Mayday Mile update! Tonight @lewis00119.bsky.social and I took one of our regular routes around the area for a nice 25 minute mile long evening stroll 😊
