Let's talk about this Nature piece in more detail.

I've rarely read something so anti-scientific anywhere short of the National Review.

i finally get to share this thing we have been working on for a year!

basically, if you want a sparser simplicial complex and keep Hodge Laplacians close, you can subsample simplices from an easily obtainable (well, now 😉) measure (i.e. Spielmann sparsification)

Convergence of gradient based training for linear Graph Neural Networks
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are powerful tools for addressing learning problems on graph structures, with a wide range of applications in molecular biology and social networks. However, the theoretic...

Our culture is terrified of real courage.

Heroism has been scrubbed clean—no bold moral stands, no real battles. Just bland, market-tested figures who offend no one and stand for nothing.
The Death of the Hero: Why We Need Captain America to Punch Hitler Again
In 1941, Captain America’s first comic showed him punching out Adolf Hitler. It wasn’t a metaphor, an exploration of the complexities of international relations, or a statement: evil exists, and…

OH, GOOD.

More people calling out the recycled Suppressed Memory/Satanic Panic bullshit known as The Body Keeps the Score.

Let’s do this more. A lot. It’s a trash book that retraumatizes victims, victim blames, and valorizes violence against women and children.

And he’s a sexual harasser.
What the most famous book about trauma gets wrong
People kept telling me to read "The Body Keeps the Score." I was shocked at what it actually says.

we'll see what there will be in the next episode of crushing our hopes and dreams...
