I’ve been enjoying my bookshop tour of York! (Forgot to get a photo of Portal Books storefront, but I bought a tote and three books which should suffice 😂)

April books! Now that I am through with two theatrical productions + weekly class times, it was nice to add reading back to my relaxation time. My favourite of these was The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue which was a secret Santa gift!

Assignments and shows are now behind me, so it’s time to rest, relax and read.

February in books! (A playscript IS a book, I promise. It gave me important behind the scenes details that I couldn’t get otherwise from the stage show.)

It was a very varied month of genres! Hopefully March can be the same

Right.

Transphobic asshats have got a petition to repeal the GRA to over 10,000 signatures. Fuck that. Let's get this one higher:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...
Petition: Allow transgender people to self-identify their legal gender.
We believe the government should change legislation to make it easier for trans people of all ages to change their legal gender without an official diagnosis of gender dysphoria.

Classes and rehearsals are done, so time to (sort of) relax for reading week and start getting excited for the London Book Fair! 🥳

January in books! New Year’s resolution is going strong to read a book a week. Book 5 just barely missed the January mark, so it’ll be a surprise for February’s post.

My favourite of these was If We were Villains because I loved the modern Shakespearean tragedy starring theatre students.

I was trying to be a good pseudo-aunt studying publishing, and I got a book for my cousin’s kid… but the book is so cute that maybe I should keep it for myself… or buy a second copy when I can 🤔

Tonight, I got to watch a scene I wrote (and directed 😵‍💫) come to life with the Stirling University Drama Society. I was almost more nervous than I would have been on stage.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll remember to actually film it… And if not, hopefully the script I’m writing in Dec will find a stage too 🩵
