I don’t like thinking it, let alone saying it out loud, but Gyokeres isn’t going to be our Haaland is he? I know Bendtner became a byword for a player who delusionally thought himself a greater talent than he actually was, but wasn’t a bad player. Is it time to reset our expectations to his level?

Yes, absolutely, that’s entirely justified of course. I was thinking of this instance and when my hometown club, Swindon Town, banned the local newspaper for scrutinising how it was being run.

Am I too late for Blue Rondo a la Turkey? #xmasbands

Clubs banning media outlets is always a dick move that insults fans’ intelligence more than it harms the outlet itself. I think the soft spot many people have for Brighton has crusted over today.

The only people who I heard say the title this year was ‘Arsenal’s to lose’ were supporters of other clubs. People will make bullshit accusations of hubris. Winning a premier league is very, very hard. Arsenal may not win it. They will face more days like yesterday. People need to calm down again.

Beautiful. You know I was never a fan of the Cocteau Twins but her voice here is just gorgeous.

Kind of related…are you familiar with Aztec Camera’s beautiful version of Van Halen’s Jump?

Oh I searched too. That’s a bleak tale, for sure.

Great album. Stan Campbell was a great singer - I wonder what happened to him. I’m listening to this, which you might like too if you don’t know it.

Great album. It’s kind of a bit of a shame that Be Bop Deluxe predated punk…I think Bill might’ve found his natural milieu among the post punk crowd but he was largely peripheral to it.

I dunno Kenny…I suspect he and I probably went to the same hairdresser at least.

He was a student in Leeds at the same time I was. It’s funny to think he might’ve been at the same gigs and drinking in the same pubs I was.

Yep, but this is going to have to be repeated again and again. Relieved more than anything.
