If Tommy Robinson is wanted by the police and has fled the country does that mean mean he's an illegal immigrant somewhere?

I was happy to pay out a big chunk of my wages for national insurance not just because that's what it is, an insurance policy for me, but because I knew that it helped the welfare bill, which most of us come to rely on at some point in our lives. A social safety net.

It's not about inclusion, it's not about stopping people getting something for nothing or that they don't deserve. It's about flooding the jobs market to keep wages low. That's why they want disabled people in work.

We all must say this. The genocide must stop.

Right now the UK government (who are establishment stooges) are testing how badly they can treat people and get away with it. Unless you're very, very rich, that will be you too further down the line. You should do all you can to stop them now while you're not too distracted by the same crap.

Remember the teacher who'd punish the whole class because of some naughty thing one child did? I do and that's what the government's doing to disabled folks when they justify PIP cuts with fraudulent claims.

Bluegill is a specific species of fish. It's also an anagram of gullible. Someone told me there are 10 more anagrams of gullible but, for the life of me, I can't find them.

File this under "evidence members of parliament are too online" because we may mock Kemi Badenoch for obviously being in the thrall of facebook memes, but this is a response that can only seem appropriate if you're in the pipeline. Especially as an MP.

Dear @bsky.app @safety.bsky.app,

It’s lovely to use your kinder platform occasionally. But I haven’t the spoons to post more or respond to mentions until I can move across fully—and I can’t do that without the locked accounts many Mad & Disabled folks need for safety. Please prioritise.

Thanks

A lifetime of pushing myself to the point of crashing, recognising my limits is very important. I believe, for so many like me, that the UK government ignoring people's limits and pushing them into "work" will prove far more expensive than not. Despite the cruelty of it, it's a false economy.

It's interesting that some people will let their hatred of AI, justified or not, displace their empathy for someone who actually needs it to help fight the shit they're being dragged through right now.

Too often, disabled people are accused of being lazy. Of not “trying hard enough”

We try so hard. Managing complex illness is a full time job. You never get a break. You do it through pain & fatigue others can’t fathom.

It’s not lazy to rest. It’s not lazy to protect your baseline. It’s survival.

if you are a cis person it costs you nothing to just say today that you see & hear your trans sisters & brothers & others over in the UK today -- and around the world, too, knowing that rulings like today's ripple out in ugly ways.

Keir Starmer is furious the OBR didn’t “price in” his fantasy that slashing #DisabilityBenefits will magically push people into work. But they went with evidence. Claimants, researchers, clinicians all know the likelier outcomes: collapse, crisis, and harm. #WelfareNotWorkfare

People often get it wrong but Einstein was actually the name of the scientist not the robot.

I just think it’s really sad that people are using AI to write their social media posts now. Whatever happened to real, heartfelt human connection?

Wes Streeting wants to make PIP more difficult to claim.

Take away what people need and they will be forced to find it on the black market, as a matter of necessity, and those people will have to do whatever is then necessary to pay for it.
