This perspective is mainly based on inconsistencies I’ve ran into when designing shorter, snappier assets for runtime playback in games.

For music application, I love LUFS-I

Generally speaking, I find them useful. But…

LUFS-M is all over the place for short program material. You could playback a sub-0.5 second file and get any range of measurements.

Plus, LUFS skew in favor of midrange. While this *generally works*, it’s not always aligned with our loudness perception

I like to build custom ones in Phase Plant using the granular engine. Same deal for creature source generation; toss in a few different creatures and cross your fingers for happy accidents :)

Agreed, it’s entirely dependent on the pipeline. Jira is far and away my favorite. I’ve worked under some nightmare processes and proprietary tooling. The former ALWAYS impacts the latter.

Me but with Soundtoys’ Radiator causing aliasing artifacts

Yeah and honestly, whatever works for folks, more power to them. I just think there’s other ways to arrive at the sound parallel compression can give you without the potential of phasing or session/track count bloat.

It’s such an additive process that my thought is usually “just turn it up”

The AR-TG Spreader does magical things.

Ok hold up it’s DEFINITELY the bluesky compression. My data was pulling the audio stream and it sounded like wind through a vocoder at first lol

Amazing how digital it sounds. I’m sure the bluesky compression doesn’t help, but such a unique sound nonetheless!

Looks so good as expected. One of the few single player IPs that’s a day 1 buy for me :)

I feel the same way. So weird how that happens, but I just haven’t been connecting with his music as much over the years.

The stacked Stream Deck setup is slick, I’ve never seen that
