We left the 20th Century saying we must learn the lessons of history. And yet here we are, discarding them once again.

A must listen, particularly for anybody getting swept up in Musk’s latest cause célèbre, where he decides to care about girls who’ve been sexually abused in the UK.

This is real journalism, not the opportunist rubbish served by ghouls exploiting the cases of these girls for their own benefit
NEW: Andrew Norfolk broke the grooming gang story, 15 years ago. His exclusive interview on today’s News Agents
is deeply powerful, not least for his anger about those political figures now exploiting it and the victims for their own purposes.

While we’re banning books…

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.

But yes, can that £40k
Reminder that, in 2022, the Jim Ratcliffe Foundation gave more than £10m towards "a £16m luxury clubhouse for an exclusive French Alps club where he and his daughter have skied for years." The club had a
"£25,000 joining fee followed by annual membership fees of £6,000."

Some belters flying in here
The year is 2005. Scunthorpe and Brentford give us a masterclass in sticking your foot in.

Feast your eyes on this chaos. The ball is just an innocent bystander…

Well, I did not see this one coming. Credit once again to the hardworking folk at City Football Group for persuading Etihad to lob a few more quid at sponsoring another stadium.
MLS side New York City Football Club’s (NYCFC) new stadium in Queens will be called Etihad Park. NYCFC is a member of the City Football Group who also own Manchester City and play at Etihad Stadium.
