“Threads hates engagement” is the lazy recycled take of political accounts that assume social media should punch their every arrogant word down everyone else’s throats. If you want engagement, earn it.
If you want Bluesky to have a lot of energy (and have more news folks) you have to start following a lot of them, so that you can create a lot of discussions and cross-pollination, so to speak. Threads hates engagement, and X has drowned it in trolls.

A year from now people will be expressing this sentiment about a new platform positively and negatively about BlueSky.
When I migrated to Threads from Xitter, I noticed how much nicer everyone was. Now that I'm on bluesky, I'm having the exact same reaction compared to Threads. The atmosphere here is even better. 😊
