I just happened to be watching baby Fossas at Chester Zoo last weekend, so this article is quite opportune and intriguing.

An interesting project I worked on a couple of years ago. Recreation of the unusual structure unearthed at #WhitesandsBay near St David’s. Welsh version also available. #archeaology #medieval #Pembrokeshire #Wales

I did some experimenting with Adobe's own generator. I gave a simple prompt "A red dragon in a cave". I can sort of work out how this confused image came about... 3/3

Textured up - I went for Horseshoe Crab with a hint of Judge Dredd #trilobite #CGI I was tempted to go full Mantis Shrimp, but chickened out. Currently rendering out the first walk cycle, it'll take a day or 2 just for the low res test. 😬

Up on the Great #orme for #sunrise today. Found a mushroom. Also saw a flock of about 30 chough. #birdingwales

I was chuffed that I managed to get the trilobite walking. Then the client asked if I could make it walk over a bump. Sounds simple, but technically a challenge. I had a sudden brainwave while chatting to a colleague, which (unexpectedly) worked. Single frame from the animation. #C4D #trilobite

This was a bigger challenge than expected (and I expected it to be tough). A walking and rolling 3D recreation of a trilobite. Getting all of the plates to interlock properly during enrolment took a couple of days fine tuning. Now to fit the rest of the parts and get them working.

Footage of the large pod of Common #dolphin feeding off the #Anglesey coast yesterday.

Went to find the Risso's Dolphins up on Anglesey this morning (it has become an almost annual pilgrimage). They didn't disappoint. Also a large pod of Common Dolphin feeding further out. Super cropped images, but they give you the idea. #dolphins #WelshWildlife #Anglesey

I have been battling with this little chap for the last few days. I don't often do fur, but I love the challenge - I will probably sit on it for a few days and make some adjustments. This is a static pose, I suppose I should rig it today, but not sure I have the energy. #mammoth #babymammoth

One of these things is not like the other...
A fetching leucistic oystercatcher spotted at #RSPBConwy today by @alandaviesbirds.bsky.social. If it stays amongst the gulls it should be OK.

My job for the day - rigging this beast ready for animation. That is a lot of bones to deal with - I may be some time. The skeleton was a purchased model (the budget doesn't stretch that far!), the skin I built around it. #ichthyosaurus #3Danimation #procrastination

A sneaky peek at some WIP. I'm back in the Jurassic again. Three models textured, ready for the next stage - rigging and animation. Hopefully then they will look a little less rigid and startled. Next, the ice age, and some very difficult, and hairy creatures to build 😬

#BirdsInTheirEnvironment African Fish Eagle dwarfed against huge cumulonimbus clouds forming above Lake Malawi. Taken from near Salima in #Malawi just over 20 years ago.

#Namibia #Giraffe #Etosha it was baking hot and this giraffe just came out of (quite literally) nowhere and headed off into nowhere-else :)

#arctic #svalbard 2022. I got locked in the brig (confined to my quarters) on the ship because I caught covid. Thankfully I got to see these guys just before it all went wrong. #walrus

I believe this may be a Short-winged Cone-head from #BurtonMere last weekend - which I had never heard of before. Wish I had taken my macro lens, lots of insects to see there, including 13 species of butterfly and lots of Cinnabar Moth caterpillars. #invertebrates

#20yearsAgoToday crossing a small river somewhere in southern Zambia. Turned out the guidebook was wrong, it was the most expensive night stay in 5 months of driving around Africa. But it was still memorable - mostly for having an elephant catch me out in the open, then it farted at me.

And if I turned around, I had these guys watching my back.

#20yearsAgoToday ... almost. It is one of my all time favourite shots, because it is a moment that will stick with me forever. #SouthLuangwa National Park in #Zambia at sunset. Just me and a herd of Impala. Total serenity.
