We need to solve for #democratic resilience earlier in the cycle in 🇨🇦 + research around the world shows #Vote16 is one winning path. At 16, we work, pay taxes, drive, consent.

Il est temps que le 🇨🇦 renforce sa #démocratie: #Vote16Canada offre une voie pour le faire, éprouvée par les faits.
Canada’s democracy thrives when everyone has a voice. We’re partnering with Vote16 to advocate for extending the voting age so young Canadians can engage in the democratic process.

NO PAYWALL: After pushback from 5,000+ Canadian academics, a federal committee has amended a motion that would’ve exposed personal data of researchers working on race, gender & equity.

A win for academic freedom—but DEI-focused research is facing growing scrutiny.
Academics’ warning of American-style ‘anti-EDI’ shift leads feds to backtrack from sensitive info ask | Future of Good
More than 5,000 academics have signed a petition to prevent the public release of their confidential information in what they say is an anti-DEI attack.

There is no evidence to support that federal research funding is being unfairly allocated to "woke" or "leftist" research.

If anything, as @pinglamjoeip.bsky.social and I found, research on structural inequality is underfunded.
