She/her. Always out and about, including #BikeDC, looking at cool bugs, and appreciating the Anacostia River. Aussi DC schools, Star Trek & 📚☕〽️⚽🛶🚇 #TranspoBingo too!
Pain. Please do yourself a favor and zoom in on each person's face in the trombone section. We are lucky mine is out of frame, because my god.

Cargo bikes and trikes are great for everyone! See today's 8 bags of groceries on the Tern as evidence 🫡 (and an old pic of the yuba hauling lesson supplies 😎)

Oh and my bikes do other fun hauls too! Trombone moving (on my acoustic and ebike), trash collection stuff for work, and of course bikepacking! #BikeDC

Getting groceries by bike is what allowed me to finally go car-free! Check out the various bikes that made it possible! #bikeDC @thewaroncars.bsky.social @actfortransit.bsky.social

Had the best time on this ride! Thanks to all who organized and rode! #bikeDC @waba.org

Took the bus to and from Ikea today, and loved it! Super direct to get there from Rhode Island Ave. Also as we were checking out the bike rack for a future trip, who else did we run into but @jlrhart.bsky.social?! The DMV remains a very small place. Anyway, enjoy this video of a bird and Marty!

Excellent bird. Here's a bird we saw at the Botanic Garden today! Pic 2 is of it getting zoomy.

Interesting article from the 51st about spotted lanterflies (and the tree of heaven). Good quote about what you're hoping for in action! 51st.news/dc-spotted-l...

Tern Quick Haul! Giant fan already, I put over 50 miles on it in 3 days!

This house of trombonists does the same thing! We have 3 different modes for trombone biking: pannier, backpack, and cargo bike rack.

We also had an alley cat and hourly rides, which were a lot of fun! No pics of my pin the tail on the donkey station in action, but you get the idea! Drivers were mostly well behaved, but some were driving too fast, esp a few feet away from kids on balance bikes and walkers w/ strollers.

It was the best day for an alley cat 😺! No pics of my actual stop in action (pin the tail on the donkey/birthday hangout), but it was a grand time. #bikeDC

Agreed! We went on just a smidge of it (plus lots of other VA trails and roads, but the blooms were blooming! #bikedc (but really #bikeVA!)

See a bloom, post a bloom! From the Irving St cycletrack last week.

Today's #TranspoBingo comes with a side of CO2 tracking! Whether by metro's end of the year wrap up or by using the commute feature on Strava, I have the tools to track the difference active transit is making

And today's 2nd #TranspoBingo 🔳 was done by eCaBi, because I needed to enjoy some outside time. I took the long way home from SW on the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail (my absolute favorite). It has a shortcut through Kenilworth Park, which is a site permeated by environmental injustice.

Once we were in Baltimore, it was as charming as ever. If I'd had more time, I could have tried the Harbor Connector, a mini ferry that picks up right by our Baltimore office. The work boats were just waking up for spring 👀, and this bus sticker was perfect.

These transit times are why I unfortunately opted to carpool with a coworker instead of taking MARC and the bus. Check out the stories the Baltimore Banner did about kids being late to school because of buses (which has a ring of familiarity, especially for OSSE bus users in DC).

Another #TranspoBingo day down! Took the metro up to Forest Glen so I could carpool to Baltimore for work. The Forest Glen station has 6 elevators instead of an escalator, which is way more accessible for everyone!

Today's #TranspoBingo square was done by bike again 😆. We took a ride up the Riverwalk and Trolley Trails. My pals are definitely Transportation celebrities, especially Monica, who showed me how sweet the car free life can be! I've now been car free for almost 1.5 years thanks to her good influence!
March 2, 2025 at 11:46 PM
I also visited @waba.org's Gearin' Up, which I resolve to use for tune ups this year and donate my OG bike to. Their mission is to be a community bike shop/hub by providing bike mechanic training to youth from under-served communities, definitely a mission I can get behind!

Today's #TranspoBingo was a bike ride spent fighting the wind, but since I was going people pace and not in a car, I stumbled across Childhood Cafe and Hana Market and stopped in. The treats were delicious, and the bike parking couldn't be better!

#TranspoBingo ⏹️ 5 was to look forward, and back! Tonight's Critical Mass ride had a midpoint at Reservoir Park, and it's always to cool to see our important historial water infrastructure on display!
