Had a 'bracing' stroll along the prom here at Hunstanton, tide out. Was hoping for a Purple Sandpiper but no luck, all the usual gulls, Oystercatcher, Curlew, Ringed plovers, Redshank, Turnstone, Fulmars, Sanderlings. Black Throated Diver on sea with Gt Cr Gr.

1/1 on a wet night here in Hunstanton. Just 1 brave Chestnut was in the trap, in the very last egg box, one of the wettest! Egg boxes now drying out in the conservatory.

The Dark Chestnut, from yesterday morning, is still on the wall. Very windy and chilly this morning. #teammoth #norfolkmoths

In a break in the torrential rain, I went up to the Allotment by the Sea and was rewarded by finding this beautiful rare Crimson Speckled Flunkey (what a name!) taking shelter in one of the dahlias. They come from North Africa: must be a bit shellshocked by Cornwall in November. #garden #moth
