Mom, entrepreneur, sailor, skier, cyclist. I love sewing, knitting and am trying to save the planet for my kids.
This past weekend, I packed up the travel (kid) sewing machine and took it to a youth hockey tournament in western PA. I fixed a Nikko (True/Bias) turtleneck that had some stitches pop, finished a pair of gray Pleat (Ready to Sew) pants and started a Remy Raglan (Sew House 7) top.

I decided to give Bluesky a try again. I'm attempting to wean myself off of Facebook, Threads elevates my blood pressure and I've removed it from my mobile devices, Insta is still fun and so is YT. Hoping to find a community of people who sew, knit, craft.

I ogled some fabric at my LFS today. I bought a few yards for another project too. They have a pattern on order for me too. I paid cash too. #sewing #localfabricstore

This underlayment is surprisingly good at insulating for how thin it is. The difference is measurable over the concrete floor. We are 12’ below the top of the concrete wall here. #diy

It’s been a good couple of days working in my underground bunker, I mean, basement. There will be a wide fireplace (the glass wings are really wide), electric. Tomorrow install click lock luxe vinyl plank. #diy

We have been working hard for three months on this basement finish. I tiled the fireplace surround last night. #diy

Four things for today. Books. Snuggles on the couch. Walks. Serenity. Find yours. We all need to recharge to fight some more.

I have six balls of this kaleidoscope yarn from 20 years ago. I want a fluffy big ribbed scarf. I want it to have mohair with it, so will buy some kid silk haze to knit together. Yarnies, is 6 way too much? I want a statement scarf, wrap around my neck and head and hang down-sized. #knitting

Ehhh, just forged ahead, finished it. Needed some bright and happy in my closet. With wide leg high rise jeans tomorrow I think, but eventually a new pair of wide leg pants (next on the sewing plan). #sewing #make9challenge

I’m two projects in on a make 9 2025 challenge. I might be done with all 9 in 9 weeks at this pace. This is the Nikko mock neck long sleeve. I’ll finish it tomorrow but only bc I want to savor slow sewing with my coffee tomorrow.

My dog and a friend’s dog on Lake Huron and sunset on Lake Michigan at a state park. Climate resilient.

Ok let’s also be real, this is Michigan in winter. You will need a big coat. And warm boots, hats, gloves and scarves. But it’s climate resilient with no hurricanes.

I post regularly on the ig app about sustainable fashion and handmade wardrobes. This is thrift store/ reseller purchase and handmade. I wear things I’ve made or thrifted every single day. You do not need to buy new! #sustainablefashion

I made it all day, no TV, just this app. But it’s time. We are so screwed. I’m sorry. So many of us tried. But so many more did not.

Polar vortex Tuscan soup. I make bone broth all the time and freeze it (it’ll take a bit to melt), tomato, potatoes, white beans, onion, celery, carrot, garlic, italian seasoning, salt, pepper, kale and pasta toward the end. I just wing it, but recipes abound online.

I saved the last parts of a very fast and easy sewing pattern for this morning, just so I could have coffee and quiet while my teens are sleeping in on their holiday. #sewing This is the Evie tunic view B from Sonia Estep Designs. Organic cotton from seamsfabric.com

Sewing is my sanity. Right now I don’t want to check the news, I don’t want to be on anything Meta, and I am sure as he11 not watching tomorrow. I’m finishing this dramatic tunic in organic sweat shirting and cozying up on the extreme cold day we will be having.

Coat was my mom’s, leather, bag is suede also my mom’s, pants are thrifted and I added the Adidas inspired stripes. Stylish sustainable clothing is within reach of everyone’s budget.
