Lets be clear, this happens in every slaughterhouse, this is not novel behavior, it's common, & anyone who is buying meat should assume that this/similar has happened to the being that they are consuming.

I have some questions about autistic lived experience:
Are autistic folks more prone to napping (including as adults)?

When dysregulated are autistic folks more prone to bowel issues?

And if these are related to being autistic do other autistic folks find them a barrier at work/in applications?

One of the ways RSD affects me is if I don't know where I stand with someone I will eventually assume that I am an unwanted presence that should get out of their lives.

@claireeastham.bsky.social hi Claire, I don't know if you use this platform at all, I think it was your article about hatred of small talk I read in the guardian a minute ago.
Have you considered the possibility that you aren't neurotypical and might be autistic?
This site has a few tests.

So close to being a great post. Sixth word mistake kinda ruins it...

So close 😭
I have after 3 years bottom my assessment earlier this year.
My brother isn't offered one because he "passes" as neurotypical.
The other day he had a shutdown at work. He recognised what was happening because he realises he is autistic. Imagine if he denied his identity! Hard agree OP!

Autism isn’t “caused” by Tylenol.

Or vaccines.

Or anything.

It’s inherited.

It’s natural.

It’s human.

The hunt for a “cause” is just the hunt for someone to blame -
and blame only makes sense if you think being autistic is bad.

We’re not.

But if you continue saying this shit, you are.

Murder is wrong. Full stop. But let’s be clear: Charlie Kirk’s death doesn’t make his politics noble. His ideas were toxic yesterday, they’re toxic today, and they’ll be toxic tomorrow. We can oppose political violence and oppose reactionary hate. Both truths stand together.

Can you say two-tier policing, Home Secretary? Because it seems that cops response to the Unite The Kingdom march was... odd...

How do you know a space is not inclusive of autistic folk?
Don't worry they'll strawman your arguments, infer nonexistent tone, moderate in bad faith against you and act superior about it when they do.

Masking doesn’t always look like pretending to be neurotypical.

Sometimes it’s performing a version of autism that feels “acceptable” to others.

Both are survival.

Both are exhausting.

And neither shows the whole of who we are.

Whenever a neurodivergent experience gets some airtime a bunch of people start commenting "that's not neurodivergence" "everyone does [minimized version of the experience]". That response isn't new or interesting. It's why so many people go without help. I won't waste energy on those arguments.

I want to thank the internet for once again inferring from my unmasked direct autistic words that that means disrespect and rudeness, even though my messages were neither disrespectful nor rude.

This is why I hate people.

It is rare to see what happens behind closed doors. I do not trust humans to look after the interests of animals that they see as currency.
Animal cruelty is learned behavior. If the farmer posts his daughter yelling and hitting pigs as he encourages her, imagine what he doesn’t post. 😤 Choose compassion / vegan over cruelty: Challenge22.com 🌱

A neurotypical walks into a bar, makes eye contact with the bartender, nods, and is presented with their usual drink.

An autistic follows the neurotypical into the bar, ouch.

Saying fireworks harm wildlife is terribly offensive!
That's lovely but fireworks cause so much distress and harm its such a weird juxtaposition we have in society.

Last night I (autistic 30+m) had a falling out with my mum (60+). She had read a lot of autistic adults don't talk to their parents.
She then said she thought "that's it, he won't speak to me again, I have ended the relationship!"
She tried calling me twice today and I was unable to pick up.
