BREAKING: Starbucks Workers United has authorized a strike.

The corporate giant hasn't moved on economic issues in negotiations, and now 98% of @SBWorkersUnited has voted to call a work stoppage “if necessary.”

The union has 10,000 workers at 500 stores.

Chuck Schumer has started the process of reappointing a Democrat to the NLRB, which would keep the national labor regulator’s 3-2 liberal majority until 2026.

Lauren McFerran will need 50 senators’ votes in order to keep the National Labor Relations Board under Democratic control.

Amazon has boasted that it spent $2.2 billion to raise workers' wages in the U.S. this year.

The company made $30.4 billion in profits in 2023, and $15.3 billion last quarter alone.
Amazon employees around the world are demonstrating between Black Friday and Cyber Monday to call for improved wages and working conditions, including unionization rights.

Workers are striking in 20 countries including the US, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and India.
