Our weekly support for climate & nature. Good conversation with an older woman passing by, worried for her grandchildren after she’s gone, which won’t be long. She was comforted by idea that we can show the children there are lots of good people are doing what they can. 💚 @zero-hour.bsky.social

In our constituency we’ve formed a Climate & Nature Bill support group and had a warm reception from our MP so we’re pressing on with planning a local peoples’ assembly. @zero-hour.bsky.social

We’ve a #CANBill group in Newton Abbot. Our MP @martinwrigley.bsky.social was already promoting the Bill & after meeting us last week agreed to join the cross-party Caucus to network with others. We constituents are keen to spur on him & all MPs on with greater climate & nature care 💚

Yes Charlie. I’m re-reading this Krista Tippett - a gift from Se Weatherhead years ago. She talks about generous questioning & generous listening. When I think about good supervision, it’s all about generosity of care.

RIP North of England poet Tony Harrison, 1937-2025. Here’s ‘Timer’, from his 1981 collection The School of Eloquence. From the Poetry Society website. Hard to read it and not cry poems.poetrysociety.org.uk/poems/timer/.

This fits with the street work we do here in south Devon. Most people just want fairness and kindness and mutual respect . And people tell us it’s uplifting to be asked and to talk.

I love this post and the sound of your book. Reminds me of the poem Antidotes to Fear of Death by astrologer poet Rebecca Elson who died too young. It is engraved on granite boulders in the most beautiful garden, Wildside, on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon, UK www.themarginalian.org/2020/04/10/a...

Inspiring people & words in Totnes today. 🙏. And I found this book, in which Joanna Macy speaks of “the thrumming relationality all things”. One of the speakers today described overcoming her fear of speaking out by imagining how a grandmother in Gaza may be feeling now. We’re all interconnected.

Dr Vu’s talk was for me a highlight at today’s excellent Summit. So inspiring about frontline innovators in Vietnam: how ordinary people find solutions to challenging conditions .

I rarely agree with The Times but yes to this: “Britain must remain a country in which the right to express unpopular and dissenting political views is not subject to direct prohibition”. However, to call XR extremist is strange to me: weird if wanting action to stop suffering is considered extreme.

Good read for a long train (or any other) journey, if you’re concerned about neo-liberalism, the therapy industry, mental health care, rules, suicide, rigidity, wisdom, help & human relationships. Was just asked by fellow passenger: do I recommend? Yes. 👏 Penny Priest.
