There was plenty of wind here yesterday and still today. Made the trip through the roadworks blighting the area around Sizewell C all the more galling. We need wind and solar power not bloody nuclear stations built on an unstable coastline.

Subsidies are largely for operation too rather than capital spend on building. Difficult to unravel, but this subsidy suggests a very high electricity price for the years when it becomes operational.
