Writer. Reader. Rheumatoid Arthritis.

My newest novel—Spring Fling—is out March 18!!

I like unfrosted pop tarts.
I go back and forth from being apathetic, to angry, to just…sad. I hate that my emotions are so hard to control right now. It feels like I’ve given this regime power that I didn’t authorize. #frustrated

What’s something small that is bringing you joy right now? For me, it’s these frozen, fruit-roll up covered grapes. So delicious. So crunchy. #grapes #fruitrollups #smalljoys

Pugs and COD. Not a bad way to spend the evening.

Help, historians—is it possible to be too stupid to be a fascist??

Because Dr. Oz???

I need someone to tell me we’re in the dumbest timeline, not the fascist-ist.

Me, on Saturday night: I’m going to be so productive on Sunday. I’m gonna do laundry and clean the house and grade some essays.

Me, on Sunday: Singing to the theme of the backpack song on Dora the Explorer, “Nap time, nap time! Nap time, time!”

In the 90’s, everyone in my high school knew if you baked a pie for our bio teacher, your grade improved. That man loved pie almost as much as he hated teaching.

I’m not saying that’s why so many people I went to school with don’t understand biology, but it might’ve had something to do with it.

Life is short. Write that novel. Paint that painting. Try new recipes. Learn black magic. Go into the forest at night. Summon a demon. Earn that demon's trust. Become best friends with it. Brag to everyone else about your new cool demon best friend. Knit that sweater.

Have any of you ever seen that interview of Hugh Grant where Drew Barrymore asks him if he has a gratitude journal, and he says, “Don’t be absurd. I have a list of things I hate.”

I have never felt more seen in all my life.
