I just finished this fascinating biography of Frances Perkins. Probably the most impactful woman in American history. You can thank her for many of the worker benefits we have today. Social Security (90th anniversary August 14), child labor laws, worker safety, 8-hour workday, and other programs.

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is a law that requires federal agencies to consider the environment before making decisions that could impact it. NEPA was signed into law in 1970 by President Richard Nixon.
