I tried to post on Wordpress, but alas. Anyway, I just wanted to say I found this essaylet delightful. My father loved Nero Wolfe, and I still have a (very) few of those old paperbacks. I guess I have no choice but to crack one open. And then, possibly, keep going. Thanks for this!

The Southeast, the Northeast, Upper Lower Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Idaho-Montana-Wyoming, Utah-Colorado-Nevada, the Southwest... Hawaii, Alaska, California, and Texas— certainly their own countries.
