Been here ages, hbu?
That's my thing - tall, bald, bearded, good with their hands.

Surely some qualification or assessment is required...

Thank you. It's my busiest time but I'm hoping fir a gentler pace towards the end of the year now.

It catches you unawares, I find.

The menopause

🤣 I said I was at catholic youth council meetings when I wasn't but she really did ring the police if I wasn't home on time, bless her.

Maybe for an easier life? 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, this is why mine insisted on me being home by 22.30 every night until I left home. & why i left home early.
November 30, 2025 at 3:42 PM
I can see that, but unless you're watching it then you wouldn't know there was an issue until it was likely too late.
Also you can temporarily share real time location on WhatsApp etc. which seems more consensual, active, & less intrusive if needed for a specific purpose?

Funnily enough, not in this case.

Just what you need during your first experience of living independently, your mum watching.

It's an additional app, installed as a family for reassurance but actual usage is really controlling.
November 30, 2025 at 3:27 PM
But why? How is it protective? If anything happens, how would you know? All you would have would be a static trace.
I don't see how it offers any actual protection.
November 30, 2025 at 3:26 PM
I work with someone whose family uses a tracking app - husband, wife, adult daughter, teenage son.

Thete is zero privacy for any of them & very little peace of mind. In fact, it seems like quite the reverse.
November 30, 2025 at 3:10 PM
That doesn't answer the question.
November 30, 2025 at 3:05 PM
At what age should you stop monitoring your children when they are out of sight?
How would you respond to being tracked? Are you comfortable to be monitored now?

In the UK we are already in kne of the heaviest surveyed societies ever. Adding to this is infantilising at best.
November 30, 2025 at 3:04 PM
What do you imagine you would be able to do to help, using a tracking app, if that happens?
November 30, 2025 at 3:01 PM
Good for her. Neither would I. Checking in is definitely progress!
