This makes it unbelievably obvious that it’s not about efficiency. Anyone in this field (my field) knows 18F is the best of government efficiency, pulled together to bring industry’s approach to the public sector. Cutting them is like making the army better by dissolving the green berets.
I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.
