Wonderful town! I lived there for 14 years 1993-2007. Way to go!

Why are they locked inside a box?

I just added a sweetbay magnolia to my native garden. Excited to see how the wildlife reacts.

Butterfly bush is a noxious invasive weed. Avoid it.

Better yet, plant some milkweed to host their caterpillars.

I planted Woodland Strawberry last fall as baby plants I grew from seed. When I planted them, I found a volunteer one that came from "who knows where" and planted itself in one of my beds. They have not emerged much yet. I am looking forward to seeing how they do this summer. #VirginiaNativePlants

Everyone needs to get on the native plant bandwagon. I recently read that butterfly populations have taken a nose dive of 20% in just the last 20 years.

What does this do, Erin?

He used to be my rep until redistricting a few years ago. Then I got Spanberger and now Vindman. (yay!)

In art history, it's a movement in modern architecture notable for heavy, blocky concrete construction, small windows, and a decidedly sculptural appearance. The FBI building in Washington, DC is an example.

I know it's not happening that way now. You asked a question about employee status and how it normally works and I have been addressing that question.

Seriously? They are cutting agencies to free up money for big tax cuts for billionaires and corps. They have been clear about this. No money will be saved. Just reprogrammed away from cancer research or ensuring clean water, etc. Take from the people and give to the rich. And you cheer them on. Sad

No, you are the retard, since you obviously don't know anything about the separation of powers. What Musk is doing is breaking the law. Only Congress has the power to set budgets and force cuts. And he and his teeny boppers are idiots. I hope they cut something that matters to you.
February 16, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Listen, Dork, 1. Budgeting is up to Congress alone. 2. Republicans have both majorities, so they should do this. 3. We don't need fiascos like the one that just happened over our nuclear arsenal. 4. Musk and his bimbos don't know what they are doing & are not weighing who "has value" (see 3. above).

No worries. Sometimes language has to rise to the occasion! 😉

They may be working on cancer specific to military service. My brother died of cancer from agent orange exposure in Vietnam. Biden's son Beau died from cancer from burn pit exposure while serving in the Middle East.

Less than two years service WITH THAT DEPARTMENT. That could include highly trained and experienced researchers recruited from private industry or research universities. It is naive to assume they are novices just because they have not been there long.

When I was there promotions didn't affect it, unless the promotion changed your status (like from part time or temporary to career conditional). Once you got to "career" status you essentially had tenure. However some of the highest grades I think can be fired.
February 16, 2025 at 10:49 PM
When I worked for the govt, "career conditional" was the period of time one worked there (I think 3 years) before gaining career status (sort of like tenure for university professors). After that, you couldn't be fired without cause or due process.

Terrific! Hope it does well for you!

So many want some shade, but wild strawberry and common violet can do sun. You might look them up to see if they might work for you. If you have any shade, Green and Gold could be an option. These are 3 that maintain a low profile.

Can you share a little more about your walkways? Light conditions? Moisture? Do feet stay on the stones or trample plants? Do you need edging plants, too, or just the groundcover?
