Despite making up half the population, women remain underrepresented at every level of government.

To mark #AskHerToStand Day, this is what inspired me to stand.

I was pleased to be able to mention the great work going on at The Jungle in Templars Square, in Parliament.

This centre is providing support and companionship for many - including those seeking to recover from addiction.

We need to go further as millions continue to suffer in Sudan's war on civilians.

My most recent question in Parliament to the Foreign Secretary on Sudan last week:

Even with intermittent rain there were lots of people dropping in to the stalls that were part of this month's “Vision Zero” event for road safety 1/2

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy.

I’m delighted that one of our brilliant Oxford small businesses - Polish Kitchen - was at the Small Business reception at No 11 Downing Street.

Thanks to Rachel Reeves MP, Izabela Ochylski and all the other small biz people who attended.

It was lovely to chat with Blackbird Leys residents at the new breakfast at The Barn, set to happen every Monday from 8.30-10.30am.

Its open to all, free, and a great way to start the week!

But also our biggest opportunity, with green growth 3x faster than in the rest of the UK economy.

So it was a privilege to join the cross-party parliamentary delegation to #COP30 to Engage with those at the front line of the climate and nature crisis

The climate crisis already affects the UK:

📈 Spikes in food prices

⛈️ Record flooding

🚑 Heat-induced illness

🌊 Many Brits' families are experiencing extreme weather, from Bangladesh to Jamaica.

It’s our biggest challenge... 1/3

The launch of Equinox was a critical moment for Oxford - for our businesses, universities and above all, people.

Thanks to everyone involved in this important initiative to promote Oxford innovation - and ensure it’s equitable for all in our city.

While much media attention shifts elsewhere, millions of people continue to suffer in Sudan’s war on civilians.

My questions in Parliament on Sudan last week:

Everyone deserves to feel safe at work - abuse should never be part of the job ❌

The curriculum review rightly includes social media literacy.

Leaders must back teachers when they deliver this subject, so learners can be properly equipped for modern life.

Having seen a real-life fatberg laced with wet wipes at Oxford Sewage Works - I'm delighted that plastic will now be removed from wet wipes.

Let's bin the wipe! #BintheWipe

It was a privilege to attend this year’s Remembrance Sunday service at St Giles’.

Today, and every day, we’re grateful to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

I raised residents’ concerns about late medical letters with the local Royal Mail - and was pleased Oxford postal workers put in measures to prioritise NHS mail.

Now we need all NHS orgs to adopt the barcode.

And I’ll keep pushing for the reliable postal service local residents need.

Good to be out on the #LabourDoorstep in Churchill ward on Sunday with local councillors Liz Brighouse, Susan Brown, and Mark Lygo 🌹

Discussed concerns about anti-social behaviour in the local area, which councillors and myself are taking up including with Oxford Brookes.

It was also really good to speak with some of those who have found companionship and connection at The Jungle following some very difficult life experiences.

I hope The Jungle can go from strength to strength in the future - many thanks to Templars Square for their support of it as well. 2/2

It was great to visit The Jungle and find out about all their work supporting local people.

It’s clear that The Jungle is a real hub for people of all ages, and I want to pay tribute to everyone involved, from the staff to volunteers and, of course, also the artist Micah Hayns. 1/2

I’m delighted to support the #EFLWeekofAction, which celebrates the huge contribution and impact of @EFL Football Clubs, including the efforts of Oxford United and Oxford United in the Community.

Proud to see the positive impact they are making here in Oxford East and beyond.

It was brilliant to see children getting trained in how to stay safe while cycling last week at St Andrew's CofE Primary School

The bikeability instructors and programme are really well organised to support everyone in getting on a bike, for pleasure and to get from A to B.

There was a good discussion in the Football APPG about taking the #3UP campaign forward.

Enabling another promotion place from the National League into the EFL will #PutFootballFirst, making it more competitive, exciting, and fair.

I'm proud to join Oxford City FC in backing this campaign.

Sudan’s humanitarian crisis is the largest in the world.

And now more disturbing news is coming from El Fasher of civilians under attack.

Civilians must be protected and the fighting must stop.

Last week marked eleven years since Claire Throssell's children were killed by their abusive father.
Claire has been an inspiration to me and to others, campaigning for this much-needed change.
Thanks to her tireless work, with Women's Aid, Marie Tidball and Jess Phillips, children will be safer
