Labour and Co-op MP for Oxford East.
Thank you to @blairmcdougall.com , the Minister with responsibility for postal services, for acting on the concerns I’ve raised with him about local postal services.

I’ll keep pushing for Oxford East to have the reliable and consistent service we deserve

Good to be out speaking with residents in Osney and St Thomas on Sunday morning with local campaigner David Calonge and councillor extraordinaire Susanna Pressel.

All year round, @oxfordlabour.bsky.social are on your doorstep and on your side 🌹

The war in Sudan is a war on civilians.

The UK must keep pushing for an end to the suffering - and for civilians’ voices to be heard.

Throwback to 2017, when I was campaigning for fair pay and the Oxford Living Wage alongside @oxfordlabour.bsky.social

It’s brilliant to see that over 180 local businesses have signed up since then, and will be paying local people at least £14.06/hour to reflect the real cost of living in our city.

Kennington Rail Bridge is vital to Oxford's economy and community, and its replacement is an urgent priority. Last week, I visited the site along with Layla Moran and County Council representatives to see just how urgent this replacement is.

Upgrading homes is one of the best ways to bring down bills for good. Home insulation installations dropped by over 90% between 2010 and 2024 – Labour is turning that around with the Warm Homes Plan.

3 million disgusting nudified images were produced by Grok in just 11 days.

Existing safeguards don’t work; we need preventative measures for AI.

.@oxfordshirecc.bsky.social told us bus services would improve with their congestion charge.

But we're seeing worse buses for Greater Leys residents.

The 3A route was already cut back in November; now there are plans to cut it even further from 22nd February 1/2

Fantastic that a free breakfast club is coming to Bayards Hill Primary School from this April! 🎉

This will save families in Barton up to £450 a year - and it's great to see what a difference free breakfasts at Barton Park and St Joseph's Primary Schools are already making.

The recent wet weather has made the pothole nightmare on Oxford's roads even worse. Oxfordshire has a record £167.9 million to spend up to 2030 to fix our roads properly - I will keep pushing them to do this.

Everyone who wants to should be able to cycle in safety - as well as walk and run.

On Tuesday I repeated my push for improved reporting mechanisms for female cyclists who've been harassed  #MyRideOurRight

Meeting the FluoRok team was a pleasure. Their ambitious British innovation transforms world-leading research into UK industrial capability. Their efforts could enhance supply chain safety, cleanliness, and security, supporting the UK’s net-zero goals while creating valuable jobs

My constituents have raised with me their problems with accessing training places after periods off to deal with serious illness.

Today I raised these issues with the Health Secretary.

Big changes coming to leaseholders in Oxford 👏

Over 5 million leaseholders and future homeowners up and down the country will benefit from stronger controls, powers, and protections.

The responsibility of remembrance cannot end with the survivors of the Holocaust.

We must bridge the generations, to remember the six million Jewish people murdered by the Nazis.

Of the 622 blockages in Oxford East's drains last year, just over half (54.3%) were caused by wet wipes

It's great that from the end of May next year, plastic in wet wipes will be banned

Until then, please consider choosing 'plastic-free' labelled or reusable wipes

Great to visit Annie Sloan Interiors recently.

This Oxford-based business is built around supporting small independent shops, creating skilled local jobs, and producing high‑quality products that are now traded and loved around the world.
