but if you were saying defund in 2020, what sense does it make to abandon that, when that political stance is what generated support for you? and in any event, what harm is there on educating the public on abolition through cogent policy ideas?

there is definitely agreement from cops (which they would never admit in whole, except to serve the goals of a pro-cop politician or to get their budget increased) about how cops shouldn’t respond to mh calls, it should be social workers w/safety support. nypd cops agree on this!
